Situated along the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Perhentian Resort is a 30-minute speedboat ride from Kuala Besut Jetty. The coral reef located 10 metres from the beach offers great snorkelling opportunities.

Beach worth suffering terrible hotel for few days, but better stay at nicer hotel nearby and walk tonthe beach…
Location is fabulous! Best thing about the PIR is the beach- wonderful, clean and amazing sea life. Stingrays, sharks, coral, abundance of fish. Great snorkling experience!
Staff unhelpfull, not speaking english, resort dirty and clearly needs maintainance. Horrible stink in the bathroom.

Excellent beach. Friendly staff.
Huge amount of boats with day trippers just at the hotel entrance. I see it as management issue. The beach is huge and boats could bring day trippers elsewhere. Yet they bring them just outside of the hotel entrance. This makes your stay noisy and unpleasant. During our stay there were not enough sun lounges as the hotel discontinued old wooden ones as unsafe and the new ones did not arrive (at least that was what we were told).

Perenthian Islands have been the most intensive and beautiful of our journey, however in order to extend our stay for mo
The Pir is located in the most beautiful beach of the big island. Since 5 mt from the beach it is possible to swim with turtles, baby sharks and a lot of wonderful fishes. The hotel is in the middle of nature with typical animals like snakes, monkeys, squirrels. During our stay we wanted to discover many beaches and the presence of taxi boats services was a must! Staying at Pir means a full immersion in the nature and the culture of the Malaysians!
The resort is not well furnished and needs a strong maintenance. The rooms are poor and very dirty (sheets, towels ..). The food is not tasty at all and the same goes for the bbq. The staff is too unexperienced without senior management. Staying here is too expensive for the services/ facilities provided.

We had an amazing stay with direct access to probably the best beach on the island. You can see turtles, baby sharks, and fish swimming just a few steps from the shore. Our room offered a stunning sea view, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful.
While the beach is truly amazing and the main reason to visit, the rest of the property is outdated and poorly maintained. Our room, though cute, was full of dust and not well cared for. It’s unfortunate because with a bit more attention to cleanliness, like changing the stained, worn linens, this place could be perfect. Also, be aware that there's no Wi-Fi, and given the remote location, an internet connection might be necessary."
